one more thing...

so they caught a guy trying to save the beluga whales from agent orange by dumping a vile of baking soda in the tank? where do these people come from and i really hope he gets some help! and please o please will someone take the jelly bellys away from me!!

dont you hate it when?

so all along, changing jobs, looking at apartments, i have known that in the near future i would be moving. any logical planning type individual would probably pack a few things here and there, purging along the way, planning on what goes, what stays, maybe even getting rid of the obscene amounts of text books from college still in the basement. That would be logical, me however...not so logical. I now have an apartment and will be moving sept 1st. Yeah and o CRap all in the same emotion,not only do i have to pack in the next two weeks (becuase this time its a real move out!!) i have a softball tournament saturday, concert saturday night, mentoring during the week, going to the berkshires next weekend and a cpr class the night before i am supposed to move, boy when it rains it pours. but really no matter how hectic it gets, ultimatly i will finally be starting a life with someone that i truly love and respect and that makes all hectic crap worthwhile.

i went to both dave matthews shows this weekend! they were great, now i just need a place to live...but my one funny ha ha of the day is (and this is no joke) a gentleman called me at my new job looking for...are you ready for this....the number to Mysitc Aquarium???? you just cant get away from some things now can ya?

i really did it!

i cannot belive that i have moved on, but i have and survived! change is a good thing right? three days into my new job and i really like it, the commute however...is a compeltly different story, but that will change soon enough, i do still miss everyone at the seaport, i have no one here to smoke with, so believe it or not i have not smoked at work all week!!! can you believe that!

friday

it hasnt sunk in just yet, this is the last day for me at the seaport, i plan on taking lots of pictures and visiting everyone and my finale goal is to climb the rigging on the morgan, i even brought my official seaport blue and khaki outfit in order to look official. i just want the sun to come out and it would be perfect! i had a lovely dinner last night at riverwalk, suzanne almost made me cry but i think susan is right when she said the things that you least expect will make you cry...i am patiently waiting for that. i cant even begin to describe how i will miss this place, it was my introduction to connecticut and all i have known since moving out here. this place and everyone here will always hold a special place in my heart!

why penguins?

where are the penguins is an inside joke to us at the seaport. on any given day i can count on at least one misguided person calling and asking about our penguin exhibit or if they can swim with the dolphins or what time is the whale show. at first i took great pains in explaing that we are in fact the seaport and have ships and various other maritime related exhibits and that they were in fact confusing us with the aquarium which is a mile down the road...and no we are not affiliated with each other. over time however, i started to become a little jaded and my now standard response is "we slayed them, they display them!" which i guess is a little crass, but gets the point across, some people who have senses of humor even enjoy the response! oh how i will miss those phone calls!

My last Wenesday....

so its a day of firsts and lasts, my first blog and my last weds here a the seaport. hallie gat me started on this blog thing, although mof has a great one as well, so i apoligize for not making this in the least bit interesting, i should get the hang of this eventually....
